S.S. MARIA THERESA
Interiors inspired by imperial Austrian heritage
S.S. Maria Theresa is a river cruise vessel conceived as a floating tribute to 18th-century imperial elegance. The project translates the grandeur of a royal palace into a cohesive interior language, combining rich materials, handcrafted details, and thematic spaces that evoke the opulence of Viennese tradition.

The S.S. Maria Theresa is designed with a “Royal Palace” aesthetic inspired by 18th-century Austria and Archduchess Maria Theresa. Its centerpiece is a three-story lobby with a grand marble staircase, bronze and gilded bannister, and a monumental portrait illuminated by a Murano glass chandelier. Interiors feature authentic period materials such as 22-carat gold leaf, antique mirrors, and carved wood paneling, creating an elegant and immersive atmosphere. Public spaces each have a distinct identity, including the leopard-themed Bar du Leopard, the opulent Baroque Restaurant, the velvet-lined Lipizzan Cinema, and the Viennese Café styled after a traditional 18th-century coffee house.
